About This Place

Chicago Burger Company, nestled conveniently on the picturesque Chicago River Walk at 301 E North Water St, is a must-visit hamburger restaurant that perfectly blends classic American comfort food with an upscale twist. Specializing in mouthwatering burgers and hearty favorites, this eatery promises a culinary experience defined by bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and generous portions.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly their signature Chicago Burger, a masterful combination of giardiniera, rich Boursin cheese, zesty lemon aioli, and perfectly grilled onions that come together in a symphony of tangy, creamy, and savory notes. If you’re looking for something with a smoky and indulgent edge, the CBC Signature Bacon Cheeseburger Combo satisfies effortlessly. Those seeking variety will appreciate the CBC Smash options, topped creatively with house aioli or sautéed mushrooms and served alongside either crispy french fries or golden onion rings.

Beyond burgers, the menu boasts a delightful range of sides and alternatives that cater to different cravings. The Sweet Potato Tots provide a fresh, subtly sweet twist on the traditional fry that patrons consistently rave about. Classic treats like Grilled Cheese and savory Chicken Tenders with Fries ensure every diner finds something tempting. For those exploring plant-based options, the Impossible Burger stands out as a flavorful, satisfying choice. And if you’re simply looking to unwind with a drink, the bar offers beer and refreshing daiquiris, rounding out an easygoing dining experience.

One of Chicago Burger Company's greatest draws is its location—the restaurant boasts both indoor and outdoor seating with splendid views of the Chicago River. Guests often mention how dining riverside adds a peaceful, invigorating ambiance, especially during warmer months. The inviting atmosphere is informal yet polished, perfect for casual lunches, group outings, or a scenic dinner spot where the river breeze complements the food's heartiness.

Customer feedback highlights a consistently positive experience with exceptional service. Jennifer Hockema praises the quality of food, noting that even her gluten-free burger, despite falling apart, was so delicious she savored every bite with a fork and knife. Betty H applauds the warm and helpful staff, making a special mention of their cashier Ricardo, whose attentiveness made their visit memorable. Lauren B., originally from New York, shares high praise for the burger’s quality and portion size, underscoring the authenticity and care infused into every dish. Meanwhile, Mark Smith appreciates the beautiful river views, even if he points out the prices lean toward the higher side—an understandable tradeoff for an outstanding setting and gourmet flavors. Aleks Ruso notes the casual ordering process and the unique vibe of open seating by the water, rounding out a welcoming and enjoyable dining atmosphere.

Ultimately, Chicago Burger Company stands out not only for its expertly crafted burgers and sides but for its ability to combine riverside charm with quality that keeps locals and visitors returning. Whether you’re craving the rich bite of their signature smash burger, a savory hot dog, or a savory grilled chicken sandwich, this spot delivers exquisitely cooked comfort food served with a warm smile and stunning views.

This restaurant is located on the river walk in the base of the Sheraton. What fabulous food! Our party of six had only praise for every entree we tried. I had the gluten free bun with my burger, but it fell apart as I ate it. I finally gave up and used a fork and knife to eat my fabulous tasting burger. My friend had the sweet potato tots - so fresh tasting and a yummy alternative to regular fries. (But the regular fries are super good!) If you love a good burger and fries, you need to give this place a try!

The burgers are really good but pretty expensive for what you get. 15 dollars for a kids hotdog seems a little high to me. The best thing about the place is being able to sit by the River. Beautiful views and the weather is nice this time of the year.

We were enjoying the beautiful Chicago River Walk and came across this place so we decided to try it for lunch. Service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming staff. Shout out to our cashier, Ricardo who was very helpful with the menu. They have inside and outside seating with a nice view of the water. We tried 'The Chicago Burger with Giardiniera, Boursin, Lemon Aioli & Grilled Onions' and also their 'CBC Smash with House Aioli' burger. They both tasted amazing! We also got a side of 'Sweet Potato Tots' to go with it, the basket is plenty for 2 to share. Overall, we had a great lunch experience here and will definitely return while in town.

I can't rave enough about the food here. BEST burger I've had in a long time hands down! We ate here for lunch and did a to go order as well. The portion sizes are huge. To go, we ordered the salmon burger and a traditional Chicago hot dog. The salmon and hit dog were so darn good the next day, I know it would have been fire had we eaten it fresh. As a New Yorker, I have to give tge Chicago dog it's props, just delicious! The salmon burger is out of this world delicious! I loved the hotdogs as well, minus the hot peppers. One of our friends who's a picky vegan eater had the vegan burger and fries and said it was excellent. I'll be back to eat here again when I visit in the next few months. Worth every penny! And everyone behind the counter was pleasant as well. Good customer service.

Nice burger joint with great food. It is open seating so you will need to order before you sit and take a number. When the food is ready they bring it to your table and all the condiments are already there. It is on the pricey side so keep that in mind. Seating by the river was a nice dining experience. Can’t comment on parking as we went there on foot.

I decided to try Chicago Burger Co despite the mixed reviews, and here's the breakdown: Location: It's a great spot if you're looking for a riverside experience. The only downside is that customers walk right by your table since there's no fencing. Indoor seating is a no-go, but most people probably come for the outdoor vibe anyway. Service + Timing: We went on the 4th of July weekend around 2:30 PM after our boat ride. It wasn't crowded, and we got our food within 12 minutes of ordering—not bad at all. Our server was lovely and made sure we were well taken care of, even though it's not a traditional dine-in service style. Food: We ordered two CBC burgers with fries and drinks. It was a bit pricey but okay. The fries came in a basket, crispy and yummy. As for the burgers, they were a bit greasy, but the meat was well-cooked—nothing raw, unlike some other reviews I'd read. Maybe we got lucky with less traffic and better service. Overall, we had a great experience. I'd say it's worth giving it a try!
